Dr. Victor Florentino Soberanis

profile

After Victor has obtained MSc degree in Statistics in Mexico, he pursued a PhD in Statistics (computational statistics) in New Zealand (2018).

DateDuties
>= 2018He graduated with a PhD from The University of Auckland with a thesis on vector generalized additive and linear models applied to univariate and multivariate time series
2014-2017He took up several consultancy tasks at the Liggins Institute and the School of Medicine (University of Auckland) providing statistical advice and support on the design and analysis of a number of research studies.
Jan 2011- Aug 2014He was appointed as a lecturer at the University of Quintana Roo, Department of Mathematics, with special interest on time series, vector Generalized Additive models, statistical inference and numerical analysis methods.
2008 – 2011He was appointed as Medical Sciences Researcher by the National Institute of Public Health (Cuernavaca, Mexico) to develop new methodology on topics related to breast cancer, nutrition, obesity, and air pollution. Generalized additive models, mixed models, time series analysis using distributed lag models (Zanobetti & Schwartz, 2000), and meta-regression analysis were included on his research responsibilities.
